Under bruising skies, though thankfully no rain, our hardy community volunteers from S.W.A.M.P. continued their regular bi-monthly working parties with the aim to clear Crassula and Parrot's Feather from Morston Pond.
Although the remaining Crassula towards the north-western end of the pond was still damp it was a satisfying dig with a fork which enabled the plant to be removed in large clumps, like turf. These were deposited on crates for removal (and burial in our 'pit') at a later date.
We're now looking at nearing the end of the initial burst of Crassula clearing - with just a small area left to work on. It's been an impressive effort by all our volunteers and hardy community-spirited diggers.
