S.W.A.M.P. 'Shedquarters'
We are thrilled to announce that we received a grant from 'The Hornsea 3 Community Fund', (part of the community engagement programme for Ørsted's Hornsea 3 offshore wind farm on the Norfolk coast), to construct a purpose-built shed for our equipment. A special thank you goes out to local business Thaxters and builder Rob Peacock for their invaluable support in bringing this project to life. Your contributions have made a significant difference, and we are truly grateful! Follow our pictures below to see how we established our 'shedquarters!'
Preparing the ground for the location of the shed base, by clearing a suitable area near the 'dead hedge'. It was vital that the ground was as level as possible, for the laying of base sleepers and eventual erection of the shed itself.
Here is where Rob's skill and experience is vital in ensuring all angles are square and levels are 'on the bubble'!
Preparing the shed base timber - treated with a protective woodstain.
To avoid the possibility of damp arising up through the shed base a large membrane and pebbles were levelled on the earth before the constructed wooden base was laid.
The shed base was then carefully flipped back up for a final positioning and levelling.
... and here 'tis!
