Environment improvement was the order of the day for our committed S.W.A.M.P. volunteers on a balmy, mid-October evening at Morston Pond.
After a mammoth Crassula and Parrot's Feather removal session the previous week, half the team concentrated on clearing an area of undergrowth on the south-west side of the pond.
These cuttings, clippings and prunings were then used to revitalise our 'dead hedge' - which has been constructed to house and benefit much of the biodiversity which now enjoys habitation in the area.
Meanwhile, the rest of the team bagged up last week's excavations, ready for transportation to our burial pit at a later date.
Meanwhile, we think our pond is looking resplendent ... however, it is important to point out that these results are from continuous, diligent work by our team of community-minded volunteers. We need to continue this work and all your support is more than welcome!
