A thankfully dry and cool August evening saw a healthy group of S.W.A.M.P. volunteers maintaining their efforts to rid the pond of Crassula and Parrot's Feather.
Always a good idea to have a plan, groups were delegated certain tasks: some continued to dig out the evasive species from the deeper water (donning waders and life jackets), others began the task of laying black matting in a bid to suppress any new growth, while a third group busied themselves transporting already grabbed and bagged matter from the pond to a pre-prepared pit in a nearby paddock.
A healthy 3 or so hours' work later, and our troops relaxed with a well-deserved drink in the local pub. Join us in two weeks' time for another instalment of S.W.A.M.P.
